Your Journey with Dr. Redleaf

Dr. Redleaf really only has three requirements of their patients.
  1. The patient should try their hardest to find their most recent audiogram (hearing test) and bring it with them.
  2. The patient should try their hardest to bring the actual CD of their scans with them – the paper report is not nearly as helpful.
  3. The patient should be nice to everyone on the Happy New Mexico Ears team.

What Should I Expect?

Dr. Redleaf can be brief in their communications – although they will explain everything to you.

Therefore, it is best to use your phone to tape your conversations in the mobile ear clinic, so you can listen to them again at home.

The day of your clinic appointment, you must have a list of your medicines and allergies.

You must have your photo ID, your insurance card, and your pharmacy information including fax number.

If you have questions or concerns, you can leave a message with our email – HappyNewMexicoEars@gmail.com – or our phone line – 312-996-EARS.

Our office manager will call or email you back between 7-8pm MT.

Your first visit to talk about surgery will likely be the only visit before surgery – since usually Dr. Redleaf will take care of your problem without extra fuss.

There are ALWAYS pre-operative glitches with scheduling surgeries, getting your pharmacy to fill medications which your insurance covers, last-minute changes in arrival times, etc. These are normal, they always happen, do not get upset about them.

For almost all ear surgeries – you are not fully healed up until 4-5 months later.

For almost all ear surgeries – you will not notice any improvement in your hearing for several months.

If you had ringing in your ear before surgery YOUR RINGING WILL STILL BE THERE AFTER SURGERY.

Post-operatively Dr. Redleaf sticks by you until you are out of the woods. After that, if follow up is needed, you will come to the mobile clinic on or near your birthday each year.
